What should I do between training sessions to help with recovery?

To help with general recovery, you may do some light stretching, take an epsom salt bath, relax in the hot tub, stay hydrated, eat a healthy, balanced diet and get ample sleep. Healthy bodies recover efficiently because the cells and tissues have what they need to replenish. Taking care of your body will help your work on the pole.

If you want to get specific, assess how you’re feeling and give your body what it needs. For example, if you’re nursing an injury you may follow doctor recommendations and ice an area of inflammation. If you’re feeling tired, you may sleep or get to the root of what’s causing the fatigue. If sore, you may do some of the above recommendations or another therapy of your choice such as massage or acupuncture. Also sometimes just a day off and doing something else you enjoy can be helpful.
